چکیده

In this study, Seed pods of B. ceiba were used as a novel, cheap, and sustainable feedstock for second-generation bioethanol production. waste was pretreated with NaOH under different conditions using Box–Behnken design (BBD) three factors levels. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to investigate the chemical, structural, morphological modifications made by pretreatment. pretreatment followed steam more effective it offered 60% cellulose 9% lignin at 10% substrate loading, 5% conc., 4 h residence time. Simultaneous Saccharification and Fermentation of Waste Textiles for Ethanol Production

Ethanol production in a simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process using waste textiles as feedstock was studied. The dissolution pretreatment of waste textiles in ortho-phosphoric acid resulted in at least 2 fold improvement in enzymatic hydrolysis rate and reducing sugar yield. The reducing sugars obtained from dyed or discolored waste textiles by cellulase hydrolysis demons...

Simultaneous saccharification and co-fermentation for bioethanol production using corncobs at lab, PDU and demo scales

BACKGROUND While simultaneous saccharification and co-fermentation (SSCF) is considered to be a promising process for bioconversion of lignocellulosic materials to ethanol, there are still relatively little demo-plant data and operating experiences reported in the literature. In the current work, we designed a SSCF process and scaled up from lab to demo scale reaching 4% (w/v) ethanol using xyl...

Structural evaluation and bioethanol production by simultaneous saccharification and fermentation with biodegraded triploid poplar

BACKGROUND Pretreatment is a key step to decrease the recalcitrance of lignocelluloses and then increase the digestibility of cellulose in second-generation bioethanol production. In this study, wood chips from triploid poplar were biopretreated with white rot fungus Trametes velutina D10149. The effects of incubation duration on delignification efficiency and structural modification of cellulo...

Simultaneous Saccharification and Fermentation of Alkali-pretreated Cogongrass for Bioethanol Production

Simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) of alkaline pretreated cogongrass to ethanol was optimized using the commercial cellulase Accellerase 1500 and Ethanol Red dry yeast. Cogongrass was pretreated with 10% (wt) NaOH at room temperature for 24 hours, resulting in an increase in the cellulose percentage from 38.5% to 60.5%. Each SSF of alkali-pretreated cogongrass was carried out ...
